Preston University and the Eastern Mediterranean University, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), signed an agreement to offer four-year joint degree programmes in TRNC and Pakistan.
The collaborative agreement was inked at an impressive ceremony held at the Islamabad Campus of Preston University. Dr Abdul Basit, Chancellor of Preston University and Professor Dr Majid Hashemipour, Coordinator, EMU International Center represented Professor Dr Halil Guven, Rector of the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Northern Cyprus, at the signing ceremony. Giving their views on the alliance, they said the agreement was indeed a good omen for mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of higher education. They expressed the hope that collaboration between their universities to offer joint degree programmes would provide an excellent opportunity to students from Pakistan to have access to first-rate academic programmes of the high international standards.
Spokesman of Preston University, M Fazal Elahi said the agreement would initially be for offering four-year joint degree programmes in information technology, business administration, architecture, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering, electrical and electronics engineering and international relations.
