The National Volunteers Movement (NVM) has signed agreements with the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (Unicef), Islamic Relief, Alpine Club of Pakistan, Adventure Society of Pakistan, and Khubaib Foundation to help them establish hospitals and schools in the earthquake affected areas.
The NVM will provide necessary assistance and support to Unicef and other NGOs, working in the area to achieve the common objectives more systematically and efficiently.
The Adventure Society of Pakistan and the Alpine Club will provide technical training to the NVM volunteers in Mountain safety, mountain rescue and evacuation, whereas the Islamic Relief and the Khubaib Foundation will facilitate in establishing hospitals and schools in the affected areas.
Moreover, joint ventures will also be launched in the area for capacity building of volunteers not only in affected areas, but also in other parts of the country.
The MoU with Unicef will bring other government and non-governmental organisations on a platform to launch 'Rahbar Programme' to create an awareness in the camps regarding hygiene, cleanliness, safety, etc.
