The three-day centenary celebrations of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF), concluded here on Friday night. The participants of the celebrations visited the flower exhibition, besides attending a poetic sitting and a variety programme in Iqbal Auditorium.
Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Dr Bashir Ahmad has said that a poet creates his poetry with the elements of society, colour of human behaviours and uncertainty of human society and the scientists mix up chemicals to create a new invention.
He lauded the efforts of modern poets like Anwar Masood, Inam-ul-Haq Javed, Zafar Iqbal and Khalid Masood, who played a dynamic role in the promotion of comic poetry. He said that these poets were promoting a new literary culture among the youth.
Earlier, a variety show was also held in Iqbal Auditorium. Renowned TV artiste Khalid Abbas Dar presented one-man show and musical items.
