The government has allocated a huge amount of Rs 1,081.5 million for development of communication sector. The development would provide an easy access to the far-flung areas of Fata.
A total of 162 communication developmental schemes, including 143 ongoing schemes costing Rs 919.275 million and 19 new schemes of Rs 162.22 million plan in ADP 2005-06 were in progress in Federally-Administered Tribal Area, official sources in Governor Secretariat Fata told APP here on Sunday
In Khyber Agency, construction of B/T road from Jamrud-Mullagori to Landikotal having a length of 10-km was in final stage besides dualization of 10-km road in Bara Bazaar.
The government has also planned to construct top 10-km roads in FR Peshawar to put the rugged areas on road to progress and development. Under new communication schemes, the sources said a 19-km-long road would be repaired besides blacktopping 19-km road in Central Kurram from Tuodo Obo to Tabai Khanikhel (12-km) of Central Kurram in Kurram Agency to explore the tourist-friendly image of Fata.
For Orakzai agency, the sources said the government has planned to construct 23-km-long RCC Bridge on Shahukhel Ghilijo-Shingled Road from Mir Ghara to Hassanzai Dára and seven-km Mitta Khan Palaosi Road in scenic agency.
The official said as many as 10-km blacktopped road in FR Kohat, 25-km road in North Waziristan Agency would be constructed to open up the agency.
An eight-km-long roads from Zarwam to Shahnari, FR Bannu and 15-km-long road would be constructed in South Waziristan Agency. The government has planned five-km road from Sabati Kach Saray Khawa to Nabir Khalil, Village Raees Kormana in FR Tank.
Similarly, in FR DI Khan, at least seven-km road has been planned besides construction of road from KM-2 Anwar Kalan to Injar Nispa via Spin Tangi Kram Karmi Bonga to bring these areas at par with the developed areas of the country.
When asked, they said the improvement in road network in newly opened areas, widening of Khar Nawagain Road (15-km) and construction of Shingled road from Pashat to Tarano (13-km) in Bajaur Agency have been given final touches.
Likewise, the sources said that work on 30 km-long road in Mohmand Agency was also in progress besides construction of Shata Road (10-km) and RCC bridge at Sanish Kool in the Agency.
The officials said the government besides this has initiated several mega projects to accelerate the development of Fata. The construction road from Bahi QilIa with link road in Mohammad Agency, construction of road fromm Serai Kandao to Bagh Maindan Hadir Kando of 23-km-long.
Similarly, construction of road from Mathra to Seri Kandao was also in progress in Khyber Agency, they said, adding hundreds of ongoing schemes of construction of link roads, rehabilitation and widening besides flyover reconstruction were in progress.
They said under the completion of these developmental project not only the social bounds and economic conditions of the tribesmen would be improved but would also create positive effects on environment, economy, life style, agriculture and industrial development of Fata.
