The four South Asian cricket playing nations has been given one month deadline to re-submit their bid for 2011 World Cup with by preparing new Compliance Book, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar M. Khan said Thursday.
"Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka has been given deadline of April 21 to submit their bid according to Compliance Book," he told on his return from Dubai after attending two days ICC meeting held in Dubai.
He said some countries raised the objections that South Asian bid for the world cup was late but after deliberations condone the delay and after a lot of debate South Asian countries was accepted and they were asked to rebid with Compliance Book.
PCB head said for this purpose a meeting of ICC will be held at New Delhi on April 30, 2006 to decide the fate of the 2011 World Cup bid.
He said despite all these difficulties he was still 95 percent hopeful that Asian bid will be accepted. Shaharyar Khan as per the plan prepared India will be hosting 22 games, Pakistan 16, Sri Lanka nine and Bangladesh six matches of the World Cup.
He said ICC had also formed Pitch Monitoring Committee for which rules and regulations has been drafted.
However he said PCB will be facing a lot difficulties in bringing stadia in Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar, Faisalabad at par with ICC standard because they are not their control. He said they are making effort to get the possession of these stadia under their control to improve them and bring at par with ICC standard in future.
PCB Chairman during ICC meeting Future Tour Programmes (FTP) was also came under discussions and its cycle has been changed from five to six years that will make the things much easier for various boards. He said as per the new FTP, Australians will be touring Pakistan in 2008. He said after lengthy discussions tenth draft of FTP was approved.
