Ministry of Religious Affairs has received 68 complaints of major violations against 29 Haj group organisers who brought 60,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for Haj-2006.
The ministry is processing these complaints as per procedure including, inter-alia, the opportunity of personal hearing where necessary to the Haj group organiser and the complainant, official sources said on Saturday. The Haj group organisers found guilty will be penalised according to the nature of complaint.
After closure of Haj operation, the ministry requested Haj pilgrims through a press advertisement to bring to its notice the difficulties faced by them during Haj-2006 on account of poor facilities or violations by Haj group organisers by March 2.
