Attacking Iran would prove to be another blunder of America and its allies, as it would have dangerous impact on Gulf region as well as the entire world, said Saeeda Warsi, vice chairperson (cities) of the British Conservative Party and Special Advisor to Opposition Leader David Cambroon, here on Monday.
"America has failed to fulfil its military commitments in Afghanistan as well as in Iraq now its military action against Iran will lead to a destructive war in the region", Warsi said while addressing a press conference at Rawalpindi Press Club.
She said that the US and UK miserably failed to do something better in Iraq and Afghanistan. They cannot afford another military operation at the moment, she added.
She was of the view that allied forces had caught in devil and the deep sea like situation in Iraq as they were intrigued in such a mess that they could neither leave nor stay.
Talking on the ground situation, she said, Iraq is on the brink of a civil war. Though the political parties of UK were in favour of attacking Iraq three years ago but the Muslim community always opposed the move, she recalled.
She said, Islam is the religion of peace and it has nothing to do with terrorism. "Western media is playing bias role in labelling Muslims as terrorist. This is a condemnable move and would lead towards a clash of civilisations", she added.
She was of the view that Nelson Mandela was even declared once as a terrorist but now he is a hero. She said, it is Islam, which bestowed women their rights 1400 years ago and the women of western world are still deprived of these rights.
Warsi, who is also the chairperson of Sawera Foundation said that the charity did its best for provision of preliminary aid to the affected people just after 8/10 earthquake.
