Iqbal Town Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) has invited suggestions regarding new taxes, fees and readjustment in the existing taxes for the budget preparation.
Iqbal Town Nazim Chaudhry Sajjad Cheema told newsmen that new taxes and readjustment in the existing fees had been proposed under Section 116, Section 54-A (i) and second schedule part IV of the Punjab Local Government Ordinance 2001 would generate an additional income of Rs 10 million.
This would help generate additional resources deemed vital to start new public welfare projects from the next financial year, he added. He asked people to submit their objections, suggestions and proposals by May 5 and help in the formulation of new budget. He said the proposals would be discussed at an open session on May 9 while the changes would be effective from July 1, 2006, the start of the next financial year.
