Students belonging to Islami Jamiata Talaba (IJT) on Monday held a protest demonstration at Karachi Press Club (KPC) against attack of All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organisation (APMSO) activists on its workers at Islamia Arts and Commerce College.
At least five motorcycles had been torched and two cars were damaged by the attackers besides snatching mobile phones and injuring many students at Islamia Arts and Commerce College Karachi on Monday noon.
Protesting IJT workers were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the APMSO, Muttahida Qaumi Movement condemnation of attack and burning of vehicles and motorcycles at their educational institute.
They also shouted slogans against hooliganism and rogue attitude of APMSO, Sindh governor and provincial government and demanded federal authorities to take notice of lawlessness in Karachi and ensure protection of students and teachers at local educational institutes.
Speaking to protesting youth, IJT Nazim Saif-ur-Rahman alleged that terrorists had been given freehand to do whatever they like in Karachi and owing to helplessness of police and other law enforcing agencies, they were attacking innocent students and teachers without any fear in Karachi.
He charged that police was also helpless and when it was approached against the attack of APMSO on students at the Islamia College, the SHO said police would only reach at the college after departure of "bhai loge".
Meanwhile, an IJT spokesman condemned attack of armed terrorists on innocent students and burning of their motorcycles at Govt. Islamia Arts and Commerce College and demanded authorities to take notice of hooliganism at educational institutes.
