All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman Mirwaiz Omar Farooq has said that India should positively respond to President Pervez Musharraf's proposals with regard to Kashmir solution.
According to Radio Tehran, he said President Pervez Musharraf had demonstrated rationalism, and presented many proposals with regard to resolution of Kashmir issue, adding that India should also come forth for settling the issue, and its hard stance could deteriorate the situation.
Mirwaiz said the government and the people of Pakistan had assured him during his visit to the country that they would accept a decision on Kashmir acceptable for people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the APHC had started process of talks with India and Pakistan because it believed in negotiated solution to the issue.
Mirwaiz, however, said it should not be considered as any weakness on this count. He urged India to come ahead with open mind for resolving the issue and durable peace in the region.
