US coffee futures gained just under 1 percent Wednesday, fuelled by light buying by independent brokers in an active session dominated by contract rollovers before the May delivery's first notice, traders said.
The New York Board of Trade's front-month May coffee contract climbed 0.90 cent to settle at $1.1010 a lb, near the top of a trading range from $1.0820 to $1.1020 - the loftiest since April 10.
The active July delivery advanced 1.0 cent to $1.13 and the back months concluded up 1.10 to 1.50 cents.
