'Wheat procurement target to be achieved'

The government is sure to achieve procurement target in the better interest of farmer community, Wheat Commissioner, Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Dr Shakil Ahmad Khan, said on Tuesday.
Talking to PTV, he said that minimum procurement target was five million tons, adding that Punjab government's annual requirement was about 2.5 million tons. The existing procurement plan, he said, would fetch 3.5 million tons, ensuring a surplus of one million tons.
