Sindh Assembly's current session, which was requisitioned by the opposition to discuss a two-point agenda, was prorogued on Wednesday following uproar in the House. Irfan Gul Magsi from Panel of Chairman was presiding over the session when the rumpus started.
It all started during the course of requests made by members for Fateha when opposition's Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that Janaza prayer of democracy be offered, which was taken out in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
His remarks caused stir in the members on treasury benches and Syed Shakir Ali of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) along with other members stood up and accused the opposition members of making fun of Islamic rites.
On his objection, Magsi expunged Shah's remarks, but Shakir insisted that opposition should apologise. This led to uproar in the House, as members from both sides stood up.
Despite pleadings by the Chairman that let the business of the house be conducted smoothly, the situation remained uncontrolled till last when finally Irfan Gul Magsi announced prorogation of the session.
Earlier, Provincial Minister Irfanullah Marwat accused the opposition of being non-serious in the conduct of House's business. He said it was opposition, which had requisitioned the session, but they themselves came in the House at 11-45 am as against the schedule time of 9:30 am.
