The Pogee Conference-2006 with the theme entitled "Global Energy Requirements; Innovating for Regional Development" in concurrence with Pakistan Oil, Gas & Energy Exhibition will start from May 18 at a local hotel.
The two-day conference will have over 30 speakers from 14 countries, including India, China, Belgium, US, UK, Australia, and Italy. The participants will be representing a number of international oil, gas and power sector ministries and associations, including Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources Pakistan, European Commission Brussels, Private Power and Infrastructure Board, Globeleq UK, and Alternative Energy Development Board.
The concurrent exhibition Pogee-2006 will be held from May 17 to 20 at the Karachi Expo Centre. The four-day show has already secured more than 150 local and international exhibitors, involved in upstream and downstream energy sectors, such as Attock Refinery Limited, PEL, IDEA, InterTrade Distributors, Siemens, GE, Cummins, Wartsilla, Areva, PSO, Pakistan Petroleum Limited, STP, Connexion, Integrated Engineering, SSGC, Datar Steel, S.M. Jaffer, AEDB and Indus Steel & Pipe from 26 countries mainly from Germany, USA, UAE, UK, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Australia and Switzerland.
The exhibition will be visited by 10,000 highly qualified local and international trade visitors and buyers. According to the organisers, Pegasus Consultancy, the visitors from upcountry will be facilitated through VIP Buyers Programme.
The Board of Investment as well as Ministry of Privatisation and Investment, and Ministry of Water and Power are providing full support and assistance to the organisers for such an informative event that would be of great help to the local energy sector. Latest technology, equipment and services will also be displayed at the exhibition that will facilitate a better understanding of developments in the energy sector.
