Ivorian cocoa arrivals seen up

Cocoa arrivals at ports in Ivory Coast reached 1,066,196 tonnes between October 1 and May 7, according to an estimate by major exporters on Thursday.
That compared with 1,046,766 tonnes delivered to ports in the same period in the 2004/05 season, industry data showed. The figures are a weekly aggregated industry estimate and are more precise than an initial estimate from major exporters published on Monday, which put arrivals for the same period at 1,065,000 tonnes.
"For the time being, based on weekly arrivals, we can say that the (mid) crop is satisfactory in volume terms," said the director of a large European exporting company in Ivory Coast's main city Abidjan.
