Poor families complain of costly pulses

Low income groups in the city have complained about the unprecedented rise in the prices of pulses in the market and urged upon the government to take steps to improve the situation, reports UPP correspondent.
The prices of pulses vary according to the quality and type but range from Rs 45 per kilogram in case of Gram to over Rs 80 per kilogram in the case of Mash and Masoor and Moong pulses. Meat prices are so high that poor cannot cook a meat dish. The dealers in pulses complain that the stockist and the importers or the dealers in the upper regions of Pakistan had increased prices.
