Bearish trend was seen in both the interbank and open market on Monday as the banks were involved in extensive buying of dollar to meet the payment requirements, dealers said.
In the interbank market, the rupee lost three paisa for buying at 60.05 and slid four paisa for selling at 60.07, respectively. In fact, increasing demand for dollars, pushed the rupee down and it seems that the local currency may lose slightly in the coming days, dealers said. In the world market, the dollar failed to gain strength as the yuan is still on rising trend, dealers said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee lost 14 paisa in relation to the dollar for buying and selling at 60.34 and 60.38, dealers said.
The rupee, however, gained 16 paisa versus the euro for buying and selling at Rs 77.20 and Rs 77.30
