Sindh Local Government Advisor Wasim Akhtar on Thursday directed Sindh Local Government Commission (SLGC) to send recommendations regarding appropriate departmental action to Sindh chief secretary after completing all ongoing inquiries at the earliest.
Speaking to 32nd meeting of the commission here, Wasim Akhtar, who is also chairman of SLGC, expressed displeasure against DCO Karachi over two issues and said that taking departmental action against him should be recommended to the chief secretary.
The meeting was told that the DCO had been found negligent because he failed to take action against CDGK Director Land Zahid Amin and secondly he could not give comments on disputed plot of Americano Dry Cleaners.
The meeting decided to send recommendations to the chief secretary for taking departmental action against former district nazim Kandhkot, as his allegations levelled against DCO Kandhkot Badruddin Ujjan were not proved.
It was also decided to suspend secretary of UC-7 Gadap Town Karachi under Removal from Service Ordinance.
On the issue of rifts between Larkana district Nazim and Naib Nazim, the meeting decided to settle the matter through special audit of accounts and records, while it approved that DCO Larkana be issued with directives for immediate recovery of illegal and extraordinary expenses.
The advisor also gave approval to inspection format of taluka/town municipal administration and directed DSSP project director to present a comprehensive review of ongoing uplift projects in the province in the next meeting.
Wasim Akhtar asked for submitting reports after completing all ongoing inquiries against government officials and providing justice to people in a transparent legal manner.
Among others, Sindh Local Government Secretary Ishaq Lashari, SLGC DG Iqbal Hasan Zaidi and the commission members Munawar Ali Abbasi, Hamiduzzafar and Abdul Hafiz Soomro attended the meeting.
