NWFP Governor Lieutenant General Ali Muhammad Jan Orakzai (retd) has said the people of Fata are blessed with God gifted qualities of head and heart, besides the abundance of natural resources, and it is the need of the hour that this natural wealth is properly utilised for the well-being of our future generations.
He was talking to various delegations of tribal elders, which called on him at Governor's House, here on Thursday, to congratulate him on the assumption of his new assignment as Governor of the province.
The Governor said that maintenance of peace and rapid development were the main challenges confronting Fata, adding, "I would urge the elders, youth and youngsters to realise the gravity of situation."
In fact, the Governor said, to ensure and make the people of Fata lead their lives in peace and harmony was his top most priority, which was the core requirement for their prosperity as well. Indeed, he said, he had accepted the new responsibilities under the spirit of deep love and sincerity with the people and it was his utmost desire to carry along all of them.
Responding to various points raised by members of the delegations, the Governor welcomed the idea that we must oversight the bitter experiences of the past; focus on the future and not only resolve the confronting problems but also avail the available opportunities for the well-being of the future generations.
The Governor also conceded to another point that the people of Fata had been left far behind in the struggle for future development and were deprived of utilising the available facilities despite having the God gifted qualities.
Referring to the development process in Fata, the Governor said no doubt exemplary development had become possible during the last few years yet he would not only maintain it but also spare no moment for its further acceleration. In this connection, he particularly mentioned the education sector and said the people of Fata must embrace their children with the ornament of education rather than arms.
Talking about certain problems put forward by the delegates, the Governor said that he would shortly visit each and every tribal agency and take suitable initiatives for their well being.
