Everyone in Pakistan these days looks depressed and finds no way to pull oneself out of his current state of mind as the psychosis among the masses is the result of 'pro-poor policies' of the political hierarchy.
But Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was given an good opportunity to vent his feelings when he was removed from the influential slot of Information Ministry and was given the charge of the low profile railways portfolio.
"In fact, I felt a jerk, and I got depressed when I was made the Railways Minister," Rashid said, yet with a smile on his face in the presence of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.
He said that the PM then took him along on a foreign tour to defuse the tension. He said after visiting Greece he felt normal--and his comments were followed by a loud laughter.
However, the Railways Minister said that now he has realised that there is a lot to be done for improvement of Pakistan Railways, and he was actively engaged in it.
The Prime Minister also enjoyed his remarks and told the participants that he was aware of Sheikh Rashid's depression.
He informed the participants that he thought that taking Rashid along on a foreign tour would be the best option to defuse his tension.
Shaukat acknowledged Rashid's performance as Information Minister and said that Railways was also one of the most important ministries, and he took the decision keeping in mind the capabilities of the Sheikh Sahib.
They remained present in the seminar that lasted for more than an hour, and shared some light moments.
