Engro donates maize seeds for quake-hit farmers

Engro-Chemicals Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd has donated 25 tons of maize hybrid seeds for earthquake affected areas and handed it to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock here on Thursday.
Engro-Chemicals Human Resources General Manager Tahir Javed and Agri-Business Senior Advisor Dr Muzaffar Ahmed Khan of the company handed over the donation formally to the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan.
The commercial value of the donated seed is Rs 6.2 million and could be planted on 5,000 acres of agricultural land. The seed will be distributed among 5,000 poor and small farmers in the quake hit areas of NWFP and AJK.
