Police have seized a large quantity of arms in Quetta and arrested a man who allegedly smuggled the weapons from Afghanistan, a senior official said Friday. The police chief in Quetta, identified the man as Mohammad Azam and said the arms were recovered in a raid on his house on the outskirts of the city late Thursday.
Salman Syed said the man had been selling arms to tribal militants involved in attacks on security forces and government installations in recent months.
He said the cache included 125 rocket propelled grenades, nearly 150 tubes containing explosive materials and 30,000 rounds of ammunition.
