Pakistan and China are the strategic partners and trusted friends from the last 50 years. These bilateral relations are the golden chapter of the international history.
This was observed at a meeting, arranged by Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan Memorial Committee at local hotel to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic ties.
Speakers at the meeting recalled that Pakistan's first Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan, despite Western pressure, had accorded recognition to China and exchanged diplomatic ties. They said the Sino-Pak friendship was taller than the highest peak and deeper than the deepest ocean of the world.
Federal Minister Mehmud Ali, speaking on the occasion, said he saw true Islamic society based on equality functional in Peoples of Republic of China, while "we simply talk of it."
Speaking next, Chinese Counsel General Sun Chunye said that both the countries were co-operating in various fields of development, including economic and defence-related industries. He hoped that the relations would grow faster in the times to come.
Former ambassador Mehdi Masood said that it was the greatness of Chinese leadership that they considered their country as a developing nation despite substantial progress achieved by them.
Besides, General Secretary of the Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan Memorial Committee Mehfooz-un-Nabi Khan and Urooj Ahmed Ali spoke on the occasion.-PR
