A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) and Bank Alfalah, here on Monday, to facilitate the power consumers in making payments of electricity bills.
Lahore Electricity Supply Company (Lesco) Chief Executive, Akram Arian and Bank Alfalah credit card head Adil Rashid signed the documents. Chairman Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Member (power) and other high officials of the Wapda were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Executive of Lesco, Akram Arian, while talking to journalists, on the occasion said, under the MoU, the electricity consumers will be able to submit their electricity bills in the Bank Alfalah without any difficulty.
The electricity bill can also be deposited in the bank through credit card. The card holder will contact the bank through telephone, after receiving response from the bank, the consumer will intimate the reference number from the electricity bill as well as credit card number for deduction of amount of electricity bill, he said.
Moreover, a meeting of the representatives of Wapda, Bank Alfalah and State Bank would be held on June 8, to expand this system of payment of power bills across the country. Later, Wapda Chief, Tariq Hameed formally inaugurated the online payment of electricity bills in Lahore.
