'Every district to have main distribution utility stores centre'

Managing Director, Utility Stores Corporation Hafeez Ahmed said on Thursday that every district would have a main distribution centre of utility stores within a year. Speaking in a PTV programme he said that efforts are being made to expand utility stores network to every nook and corner of the country.
The expansion of network up to tehsil level has already been initiated The day is not far when people of all areas will have this facility at their doorstep.
To a question he said that provision of meat through utility stores has been initiated from Lahore as a model and if the feedback is positive it would be expanded to other areas.
The corporation has strengthened its monitoring mechanism. On complaints that suppliers were sending sub standard material in far-flung areas He said, a main distribution center is being established at Dasu with the aim to set up maximum utility stores in the surrounding areas including Gilgit.
