The Special Communication Organisation (SCO) has reduced the land lines call charges by announcing a special package for the subscribers.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday the Sector Commander of the Special Communication Organisation (SCO), Colonel Suhail Hamid said that the Special Communication Organisation was committed to give good quality service to its subscribers, saying following the direction by the Director General SCO, Major General Shahid Maqbool, the organisation has not only decreased the call charge from the SCO net work making calls from the land lines or Scom mobiles to any mobile net in Pakistan and also has termed it free zone in order to help facilitate its subscribers adding the SCO has also abolished the inter connection charges with other companies.
Colonel Hamid said that call registration method was being established to register five favourite mobile numbers from Scom to Scom saying with this facility any caller registered with each other could make call on more than half charges of the exiting tariff.
Giving details about the reduced call charges, the SCO Sector Commander said that Rs 2.29 has been fixed for SCO land lines to other land lines from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm while Rs 1.14 has been fixed from 8.00 pm to 8.00 am per minute adding similarly from SCO land line to Scom mobile in any part of Azad Kashmir Rs 2.98 has been fixed and during off peak hours the rates will be Rs 2.40 per minute, he added.
Charges of the Scom for local calls round the clock would he Rs 2.40 per minute.
Rs 4.72 and Rs 4.14 would be charges for per minute from SCO land lines to any mobile network in Pakistan during peak times and off peak times respectively, he added.
He said all the taxes and duties are included in these rates as there would be no other charges other than the given call charges rates.
SCO Sector Commander told that Scom phone cards have been made franchised as these cards would be available at some 92 points throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir to facilitate the subscribers.
He asked the customers to pay the fixed price, written on the card as no one should pay extra amount, saying if there was any compliant in this regard, it should' be informed accordingly to the nearest SCO office or the sector headquarters.
He said the PCO owners have been directed to receive call charges according to the new tariff asking the customers to obtain receipt after making the calls from the PCOs.
