Members of Sustainable Agriculture Action Group (SAAG) staged a rally here on Wednesday to protest against anti-farmers policies. Addressing the participants, Irfan Mufti said that the WTO is rushing towards an unfair, non-transparent and exclusive deal without respecting the rights of poor countries and commitments made with them.
Abdul Majeed Cheema of Pakistan Kisan Ittehad said that the deal on the table at the World Trade Organisation would only serve to worsen poverty.
Mustafa Talpur and Farooq Tariq said on the occasion that rich nations must stop cheating the poor people, and developing countries should reject the WTO deal.
