MTMIS project becomes functional

Pilot project of Motor Transport Management Information System (MTMIS), aiming at issuance of computerised registration books for newly purchased vehicles, has become fully functional at the office of Director Excise and Taxation, Farid Kot House, Lahore.
The process of registration of newly purchased vehicles has been made easier and transparent under which computerised registration books would be delivered to the motoring public after a week. A number of steps for facilitating the general public have been taken and as many as 35 counters have been established at the office of Director Excise and Taxation, Farid Kot House, Lahore, to cater to the needs of public.
As many as 40 motors taxation clerks and 11 E&T inspectors would wear new uniform and display office identity cards for distinction, a spokesman of E&T department said here on Thursday.
