The heat wave along with the numerous power breakdowns made life in Karachi almost miserable for the large majority of residents, reports UPP correspondent.
The day temperature in Karachi shot up 42oC today and even the main roads in the city did not have the usual hustle and bustle of traffic. Cold drinks and ice were in great demand. However, the electricity breakdowns caused big street demonstrations in many areas of the city.
The current heat wave will continue tomorrow according to the Met office.
Lahore and Islamabad reports also showed temperatures as high as Karachi. It may be mentioned here that day temperatures in Karachi have been exceptionally high this week.
