The Traffic Department of Capital City Police Karachi, as a part of its contingent plan for the ensuing monsoon, has identified about 100 points where the rain water accumulates and submerges roads causing traffic mess in the city. Such points are located in all the four traffic zones of Karachi, however, majority of them are in zone-I.
THE FOLLOWING POINTS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED:
ZONE-I: Sheraton Hotel Gate and Sindh Club intersection at Club road, Fountain roundabout at Aiwan-e-Saddar road, Taj Mahal near Saddar Section at airport road, Khaliq Dina Hall and KMC building at MA Jinnah road, Denso Hall to Taj Hotel at Altaf Hussain road, Yaqoobia mosque to RK square at Shahrah-e-Liaquat, Toheed Commercial light signal at AS Ghazi road, 26th street light signal and Khayaban-e-Toheed light signal at Khayaban-e-Shamsher.
Aram Bagh light signal at Shara-e-Liaquat, SM Law College Chowrangi at Ziauddin Ahmed Road, Nawab Mohabat Khanjee road, Frere Chowk, Garden Chowk, Saeed Manzil and Telephone Exchange near Zia Chowrangi at MA Jinnah road, Zoo Chowrangi, Readol Chowk and Makki Masjid at Aga Khan III road, Ram Swami, Abbasi Chowk and Murad Khan Chowk at Nishtar road.
ZONE-II: Liaquatabad No:10, Nazimabad No:2, Hasan square, Sohrab Goth, Lasbella Chowrangi, Teen Hatti Chowk, Guru Mandir Chowk and Aysha Manzil Chowrangi.
ZONE-III: Dr Mehmoodul Hassan road near Lal Kothi, Tipu Sultan light signal, Natha Khan, Star Gate to Madam Apartment, Malir 15 to Malir Mandir and Malook Hotel, Quaidabad Chowk, Dawood Chowrangi to Murtaza Chowrangi, Dawood Chowrangi to 89 Turn, Korangi Industrial Area road, Malir river Korangi crossing, Korangi crossing to No:2 towards Korangi Industrial Area road, Expressway near Furniture Market.
ZONE-IV: Mai Kolachi light signal, Passenger Peer, ICI bridge, Gulbai Chowk, Ghani Chowrangi, Habib Bank Chowk, Banaras Chowk and Mowachh Goth.
