Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqi has directed all the superintendents and deputy superintendents of jails in Sindh to send signed clearance certificates to his office that no jail manual violations are taking place.
He said the certificates must clearly testify that manual violations were not taking place in respect of mobile phone, satellite phone, liquor, hashish, heroin, opium, illegal arms, daggers, knives and all other illegal things, which were prohibited inside the jails. He said it must also be certified that jail visitors were not being harassed and no money was being taken from them.
He warned that after provision of this certificate, if such things were recovered from inside the jails, the concerned jail superintendent and deputy superintendents would be held responsible.
