Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy, Dr Hamida Khuhro, has ordered comprehensive revamping plan for colleges along with redeployment of teachers to improve the working and output of these institutions. She issued the directive to this effect while presiding over a meeting of high officials of Department at her office here on Wednesday.
The Secretary Education, Syed Ghulam Ali Shah Pasha, Special Secretary Education Karim Bux Sarohi, Provincial Education Manager (PEM) Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Additional Secretary (HE) Colleges, Riaz Ahmed Memon, were among those who attended the meeting.
The Minister said that there are complaints that in some colleges the teaching staff is in excess while in some there is a shortage. She said that it is the situation regarding the availability of teachers of important subjects. Dr Khuhro directed the PEN to come up with a redeployment plan of college teachers in order to rationalise the availability of teaching manpower. She further directed to collect the data of colleges, teaching staff and other facilities available there.
The Minister asked to establish laboratories as a first priority and also for the provision of books of science, and encyclopedia etc to the libraries. She also directed to provide sufficient office accommodation to newly established Directorate of Colleges. In the meeting, the Minister Education allowed to continue admissions of students in Karachi under CAP Policy.
