The Nishtar Park Inquiry Tribunal, headed by Justice Rehmat Hussain Jaffery on Thursday ordered having second opinion from other graphic experts to check resemblance of a bodyless head with a person in the public gathering at Nishtar Park on April.
Resuming the proceedings, the Tribunal examined a report prepared by CPLC graphic experts which rejected resemblance of the person shown in a picture with the bodyless head.
Additional Advocate General, Sarwar Khan told the Tribunal that he will send necessary evidences in the shape of photographs and video cassettes to Punjab police for verification purposes. The Tribunal today recorded the statement of Chairman Pakistan Sunni Movement (PSM), Syed Shah Siraj-ul-Haq Qadri, an eyewitness in the Nishtar Park tragedy.
He deposed that Rabiul-Awwal procession of Jammat-e-Ahle Sunnat Pakistan (JASP), headed by Shah Turabul-Haq Qadri, reached Nishter Park about 15-20 minutes before Maghrib prayers on April 11.
He stated that when he reached Nishter Park, sitting on the stage were Maulana Mukhtar Qadri, Iftikhar Bhatti, Akram Qadri, Maulana Kokab Norani and others while Shah Turabul Huq was addressing the gathering.
He said he heard explosion about three minutes after Maghrib prayers had been offered and saw a flame emerging from the ground near the stage.
He said, he along with his two children and father, Shah Turabul Huq and Haji Hanif Tayyab left Nishter Park, about 50 minutes after the explosion.
He also presented some suggestions to the Tribunal for ensuring fool-proof security at Nishter Park on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal congregation, next year.
