The lineup of vessels waiting to load sugar in Brazilian ports jumped to 47 from last week's 39, shipping agents Williams said. It said in a weekly report that 32 vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, up from 27 last week. In north-eastern Brazil, there was one vessel at Maceio, compared with none last week, and one at Recife, versus none a week ago.
The center-south, which accounts for 88 percent of national output, started cutting a forecast record cane crop in March and will continue until December. Santos port accounted for 73 percent of sugar tonnage being loaded in the ports of Brazil.
