World Population Day on July 11

As elsewhere, the World Population Day would be marked here on July 11 in a befitting manner. The theme of the Day this year would be "Young People". A number of activities have been planned to mark the occasion with a view to creating awareness about population-related issues to ensure quality life for masses of the country through bringing down the growth rate at par with national resources.
On the eve of the World Population Day, a programme has been arranged here on July 10.
Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Raheela Tiwana will be the chief guest at the day-long programme, being organised by the Ministry of Population and Welfare, Government of Pakistan.
The schedule of the programme includes sports contests, a walk at the Clifton Beach Park, speech competition, `Mushaira', tableau. Raheela Tiwana will distribute the prizes among the winners on the occasion.
