Foolproof measures have been taken for the transparent counting of ballots in all the districts of Azad Kashmir. This was stated by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas Tahir Iqbal while talking to PTV. He said, the election process would lead to strengthening of democracy in the region.
"Let me assure you that the polling agent who is sitting there on that table when the counting take place even not let anybody take away a vote of his candidate" he added. So they are there, all the polling agents of all the parties are sitting, candidates are sitting in front of the polling staff, which is being deputed by the government of Azad Kashmir.
They count right in front of them and every result is put on the result sheet and that result is signed by every one of them and then every sheet is handed over to the agent and one sheet is put into the bag to make sure that as and when required in case of a dispute and if the counting takes place second time all these sheets and results are shown and then compression is done. To a question he said; "What we are trying to do is that we need to sort out the Kashmir problem." And that is through three parties, Pakistan. India and people of Kashmir, he added.
