AJK Muslim Conference President, Sardar Attiq Ahmed has vowed to form a stable government in the AJK. In an interview, he thanked the Kashmiri electorates for reposing confidence in MC and giving it clear majority in the House.
He said elections to the seats of women, ulema, mashaikh and technocrats would further strengthen MC's majority in the assembly. The Muslim Conference has so far bagged 21 out of the 41 seats in the assembly in direct elections of July 11.
The assembly has 49 seats in total and the remaining nine seats would be filled by elections in which newly elected MLAs would cast their votes.
Hailing his party's victory, Sardar Attiq Khan said the return of Muslim Conference to power would provide the political and ideological stability to AJK.
He welcomed that both Pakistan and India have embarked on a peace process and implemented a number of confidence building measures to bring the two sides of Kashmir closer.
