The International Islamic University Islamabad is holding a two-day Roundtable on Islamic Education, Continuity and Growth beginning on Friday in the New Campus of the University at Sector H-10, Islamabad.
Dr Tamara Sonn, Kenan Professor of Religion and Humanities, at the College of William and Mery, Dr Mahmood Ghazi, former President IIUI, Dr Mumtaz Ahmed, Hampton University, USA and Dr, Farid Esack, Visiting Professor, University of Homburg, Dr Zafar Ishaq Ansari, President IIUI and a number of known educationists, scholars and intellectuals are scheduled to participate in the roundtable.
Points to come under discussion during the round table include Current Debates on Madrassah Education in the West, Madrassah Education in South Asia, an overview Islamic Education in Bangladesh, Perspective of Islamic Education from South Africa and South East Asia, Reform Efforts, Concerns with Islamic Education in Pakistan, Reform Efforts: Concerns with Islamic Education in Pakistan, Possibilities of Improvement and Growth and Further Potential of Research and Study on Islamic Education.
