The National Security Council meeting to be held on July 18 and President Pervez Musharraf will preside over it. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Senate Chairman, Speaker National Assembly, Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee, General Ahsanul Haq, PAF, Navy heads, Punjab CM Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Sindh CM Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Balochistan CM Jam Muhammad Yousaf will attend the meeting.
There is a possibility that the NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani will attend the meeting but there is no chance of participation of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Secretary General and the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Maulana Fazalur Rehman.
While, the NSC members, federal minters, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Rau Iskandar Iqbal and Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri will also attend the meeting. The council Secretary Tariq Aziz will brief the members about the meeting agenda.
The council will review current political situation in the country, law and order, foreign policy and several other issues. Karachi situation after the killing of Allama Hasan Turabi will also come under discussion.
