Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) Chief Executive Akram Arian has said that in FY2005-06 they have managed to electrify 794 villages as against 382 in FY2004-05.
Briefing the newsmen about the Lesco performance during last fiscal year, here on Friday, Akram further said that there was an increase of 6.5 percent in the company's customers and the number now stands at 2,637,675.
"Lesco also managed an increase in its revenue that surged to 61.27 billion rupees from the corresponding year of 55.36 billion rupees," he added.
However, line losses showed marginal decline from 13.2 percent in FY 2004-05 to 13.1 percent in FY 2005-06.
Lesco managed to decrease the rate of tripping from 182,292 in FY 2004-05 to 143,709 in FY 2005-06, he said.
According to him, in the last fiscal year they added 7939 new transformers and in the last four years 17,658 new transformers have been added.
It may be mentioned that 1625 transformers were damaged due to overloading.
Moreover, 50 new power transformers are being added during 2006-07, while mobile grid station has also been inducted to meet the emergency.
