Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Ehsan-ul-Haq said that operational preparedness of our armed forces was at a higher level than any time over the last many years. He was addressing the convocation ceremony of No 19 Air War Course at PAF Air War College Karachi on Saturday.
"Pakistan armed forces are implementing a multi-year development plan to modrenise and consolidate the credibility of our deterrence," he said.He said Pakistan was committed to peace and resolution of all disputes including issue of Jammu and Kashmir with India, adding "Our yearning for peace should not be misconstrued as a sign of weakness, rather, it is confidence that comes with our capabilities to resist hegemony and defeat any aggressive designs against us.".
Ehsan reiterated that Pakistan Air Force had a proud history of professionalism and whenever called upon to espouse the cause of national defence, PAF had fully demonstrated its ability by accepting every challenge with courage and aplomb.
While congratulating the graduates, including officers from friendly countries, China, Jordan, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Turkey and Yemen, besides officers from Army and Navy, he expressed hope that through the knowledge acquired here they would make a profound impact on the strategic thinking in their respective service.
