In an initiative to reduce road casualties through the delivery of road safety education and training, Indus Motor Company (IMC) held a 5-day course on Road Safety & Traffic Injuries, in partnership with NED University, Aga Khan University and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
Road Safety awareness was one of the priority themes for our Traffic Safety Program at IMC and we will involve partners working together to reduce road traffic accidents.
Not a day goes by without a fatal accident on our roads, and very often these involve young drivers. If this course saves just one life then we had made a difference," said Director, Corporate Planning & Customer Relations, Shah Saad Husain.
In intensive sessions, Professor Dr Geetam Tiwari and Professor Dr Dinesh Mohan of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, renowned experts in Road Safety, shared similar problems and the strategies being used to minimise road traffic incidents in India. During the course, speakers emphasised the need for developing proper roads, traffic systems and regulations.
Participants to the course comprised of academia, traffic engineering experts, doctors, representatives of the automobile industry, private sector companies, petroleum companies, transportation companies, Police, government departments, road and civil engineers etc -PR
