Israel continued targeting Hizbollah positions in Lebanon, Aaj TV special corespondent, Batool Fatima, reported from Beirut on Tuesday. More and more civilians are coming under Israeli barrage of fire as it becomes more ferocious, destructive and widespread.
There are reports that Israel targeted eastern area of Lebanon bordering Syria. In response, Syria alerted its forces for any emergency situation. Israel said its attacks would continue for two more weeks. Israeli planes bombarded a town near Qana for three hours, killing at least 20 civilians, including three Hizbullah fighters.
According to the corespondent, a UN convoy was also came under Israeli attack in which two German journalists were injured. Another UN convoy carrying relief goods and supplies for Lebanese people was stopped by Israeli forces.
Three soldiers were killed when Hizbullah attacked Israeli convoy in Aita al-Shaab town while heavy fighting is raging in the town, according to latest reports. Israeli drones destroyed twelve houses in the area. There are also reports of heavy fighting and casualties in Bint Jubayl.
In another Israeli attack four Hizbullah fighters were killed. According to UN sources, Israeli forces entered into another Lebanese town bordering Israel but facing stiff resistance from Hizbullah fighters. Israel had given 48 hours ultimatum to Lebanese civilians to leave the area or face bombardment. But in utter disregard to its ultimatum, Israeli attacks are continuing. Officials said so far some 750 Lebanese were killed in the conflict.
Peoples' reaction was wild and angry over the killing of innocent civilians. Mostly women and children were the victims of Israeli attacks-a blatant violation of human rights and UN conventions.
Aaj TV special corespondent visited Lebanese town of Qana on Tuesday. One of the residents while talking to this corespondent said he did not want to fight but his whole family was killed and now he is no more interested in peace any more. He wanted to take revenge. The mode and atmosphere was sombre and gloomy. People were just desperately trying to leave the country. One of the major problems is the availability of petrol, which is in scarcity and very costly, the corespondent reported.
