The Institute of Information Technology, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro organised Seminar on Fast Emerging Telecommunication Technology, Optical Cross Connects-Device for Next Generation Optical Networks.
The seminar was presented by Engr. Ahmer Shahzad Memon who has recently returned from England after completing his MS in Telecommunication from Oxford Brooks University. In his presentation Engr. Ahmer Shahzad said that Optical Cross Connects has the ability to connect any input to any output. It is the switch of next generation.
The main function of Optical Cross Connect is to dynamically reconfigure the network, at the wavelength level, either for restoration processes or to accommodate changes in bandwidth.
