President General Pervez Musharraf has sanctioned payment of special allowance equal to 100 percent of the basic pay to all officers/officials of the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) from August 1, 2006.
According to a CBR notification issued on Monday, 100 percent increase in the basic pay would be available to officials and staff working at the board's headquarters; directorate general of training and research (direct taxes), Islamabad/Lahore/Karachi; directorate general of training and research (customs and federal excise), Islamabad/Lahore /Karachi; directorate general of inspection and audit (direct taxes) Islamabad/Lahore/Karachi/Abbottabad/Peshawar/Gujranwala/Faisalabad/ Multan/Bahawalpur/Hyderabad/Sukkur/Quetta; directorate general of inspection and audit (C & FE), Islamabad/Lahore/Karachi; directorate general of customs valuation and PCA, Islamabad/ Lahore/Karachi; directorate general of intelligence & investigation (customs, sales tax & federal excise), Islamabad/Lahore/Karachi /Peshawar/Quetta.
The expenditure will be met out of a sanctioned budget grant of the CBR, the notification added.
