Punjab Industries, Commerce and Investment Minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema has said that district market committees and price control committees would be further activated to ensure smooth supply of essential items to the consumers on reasonable rates.
He stated this while talking to various delegations of PML, here on Wednesday. The minister said that supply of packets under Sasta Ration Scheme had been started and this process had been initiated at union council level. "Due to effective measures taken by the government, the daily use items were available to the masses on cheaper rates," he added.
He averred that instructions have been issued to district Nazims and DCOs to maintain a check on the prices of essential items.
