Punjab University Admission Committee's meeting on Thursday decided that the university departments/colleges/ institutes/centres should also issue and receive the forms from candidates in person.
The meeting, presided by Vice-chancellor Arshad Mahmood, decided that the forms received through postal and courier services would also be valid and the bank drafts already issued by various banks in favour of NTS for M.A/M.Sc were also acceptable. Entry test shall also be accepted.
The departments, which conducted the entry test for M.A/M.Sc. and other master level programmes last year, the entry test for such departments will be compulsory.
The departments, which have not conducted the entry test in previous years, the entry test will be optional for such departments, which should inform in writing to the chairman admission committee by August 11 that they want to conduct entry test for admission to master level programme or not. The departments can also receive registration/entry test/form fee in cash from candidates. The bank drafts and postal orders will also be accepted.
Admissions in M.A/M.Sc. evening/self-supporting programmes will be done by the teaching departments as per previous practice.
The departments, which will opt for entry test, can receive the forms two days before the conduct of entry test. The roll number slip for test will be issued to the candidates at the time of receiving the forms in person. In case of forms received through mail, the roll number slip will be issued two hours before the entry test.
The conduct of entry test will be the responsibility of the concerned department. The respective deans and heads of the departments will jointly be responsible for smooth conduct of entry test.
No stalls/counters/banners other than the official facilities will be allowed on the premises. Under no circumstances the admission forms will be issued to any unauthorised person or group of students for use or distribution on behalf of university or students groups.
