Secretary General of ARD Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that bringing a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister was a well-thought-out decision.
In an interview with a private TV channel he said that the ground on which the decision was taken should also be known, adding that the Supreme Court of Pakistan gave a decision against the government in the privatisation of Pakistan Steel Mill case.
He said that this implies that the government policies have failed and the judiciary has done its job. Now it is up to the political parties to highlight the decision, he added.
He said, "We demand that the present rulers have no right to govern the country anymore because they have failed. We demanded that General Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aiziz should resign by July 31, otherwise, no-confidence and impeachment motions will be tabled against them."
President of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Imran Khan on the occasion said that the world has reached the conclusion that there is no other system except democracy. More the democracy, more the development in any country. He said that all other things like health, education and justice are secondary things. He said that military governance has failed in Pakistan, adding that running the country's affairs is not the business of the military.
A central leader of PPP Raja Pervez said that no political party welcomes the military government. He said those nations and countries are viewed as respective which are run under democracy. "Unfortunately, we could not know as to who has the right to run the country", he added.
To a question the PPP leader said that if the 15 core people have the right to rule, then why few generals topple an elected civilian government. Unfortunately, he said, the military governments not only add to country's problems but also weakened democracy.
