The Karachi Port handled 81,003 tonnes of cargo including 53,726 tonnes import, 27,277 tonnes export cargo and 4,618 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 72,918 tonnes dry cargo including 61,430 tonnes general cargo; 6,048 tonnes sugar; 3,821 tonnes fertiliser; 1,328 tonnes rice; 290 tonnes cement and 8,085 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo. Five ships namely YM Energy, Marnedjik, Scan Bothnia, Torm Sara and Rickmers Doha sailed out to sea during the report period.
Five vessels viz Sp 5-Eric G Gibson, Maersk Arkansas, Cosmic Challanger, Ding Xiang Hai and Ibn Batouta currently at the berths. Five ships namely Orient Independence, An Yua Jiang, Cosmic Challanger, Maersk Arkansas and Thor Captain expected to sail on Saturday, while another vessel Yang Jiang He is expected to sail on Sunday.
Five vessels viz Latgale, Rising One, Yang Jiang He, Emerald Sea and Jade Trader due to arrive on Saturday, while four ships namely MT Johar, CMA CGM Simba, Conti Express and Alexa M are due to arrive on Sunday.
Five ships namely Wan Hai-303, Ever Govern, Anorasia Alps, Gulf Bridge and Christos are due to arrive on Monday, while two vessels viz Al-Marwah and Apl Jeddah are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A total cargo volume of 74,759 tonnes comprising 46,770 tonnes import and 27,989 tonnes export inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 3,053 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours ending at 0800 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 400 tonnes edible oil; 4,771 tonnes sugar; 1,758 tonnes cement; 15,809 tonnes iron ore; 120 tonnes chemicals and 51,301 tonnes containerised cargo. Four ships namely MT Stolt Avenir, MT Anette Kosan, MV Precious and CV IBN Sina sailed out to sea during the report period. A total of six vessels viz Madre, Splendour, Warbah, External Diligence, Dixie Monarch and Bright Kosan are currently at the outer anchorage.
Four ships namely CV Sima Parts, MT External Diligence, MT Liquid Success and MT Bright Kosan due to take berths on Saturday. Five vessels viz CV Orient Independence, MT Samho Cygnus, MT Latgale, MV Helenic Breeze and MT Yanaseni with containers, edible oil, carbon oil, Iron ore and chemicals due to arrive on Saturday, while three more container ships namely CV MSC Germany, CV MSC Dymphna and CV Sinar Bontang are due to arrive on Sunday.
Two ships namely CV Sealand Mariner and MT Al-Maqwa are due to arrive on Monday.
PORT QASIM WEEKLY OPERATIONAL ACTIVITY A total cargo volume of 477,060 tonnes comprising 367,574 tonnes import and 109,486 tonnes export cargo was handled during last week ending on Friday, 11th August 2006.
The cargo comprised of 132,709 furnace oil; 67,567 tonnes crude oil; 30,241 tonnes edible oil; 26,558 tonnes sugar; 22,172 tonnes chemicals; 4,534 tonnes LPG; 14,847 tonnes cement and 188,432 tonnes containerised cargo. A total of twenty-three ships took berths to load/offload the above cargoes, while twenty-three vessels sailed out to sea during the reporting week.
