A five-star hotel will be built near Qalma Chowk in the heart of the city as per plan of Punjab government to facilitate the foreigners, International sports teams, mediamen, delegations and travellers. The district government has started taking preliminary steps for the construction of the hotel.
Four big concerns having repute of international level in hotel management have shown their interest in the construction of the hotel. The government has issued a notice for expression of interests with a view to making the atmosphere a healthy competition and to ensuring transparency in this regard. The services of Nespak will be acquired for financial and technical aspects of the projects.
Addressing a meeting of district development committee here, Multan DCO Iftikhar Babar said that 55 schemes costing Rs 40 million under chief minister's education reform programme were approved. Similarly, the meeting also approved to build sheds at general bus stand, tower plaza and to install airconditioners at the new bus terminal besides beautification of kutchery compound.
